MEET THE THERAPIST
Many of the ways we respond to stress or past experiences began as ways of coping with situations that were simply too much to carry alone.
I offer a steady, collaborative space where therapy moves at a pace that feels manageable and supportive. My work focuses on helping people understand how thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and physical responses influence one another. When we begin to understand how these patterns developed, it becomes possible to approach them with compassion rather than self-criticism and gradually begin creating meaningful change.
Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure why certain reactions keep showing up in their lives. You might notice patterns such as anxiety, emotional overwhelm, shutting down, or feeling stuck in ways that are difficult to change on your own. Often people are used to holding things together on the outside while feeling unsettled underneath.

Meet Colleen
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
I am a certified psychophysiologist and trained in Flash Technique. My work often focuses on individuals navigating acute and complex trauma, chronic stress, neurodivergence, and everyday concerns or stressors, supporting clients as they develop greater understanding of their experiences while building emotional stability and self-trust.
My approach is person-centred and integrative. I believe that one size does not fit all. What supports one person may not support another, and even for the same person, needs can shift over time. Because of this, I take an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities including psychodynamic therapy, emotion-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, internal family systems and acceptance-based approaches. I strive to continuously expand my knowledge and skills so I can meet clients where they are and adapt our work together to best support their evolving needs.
Rather than applying a single rigid model, I tailor therapy to each individual, maintaining a strong focus on emotional understanding, behavioural patterns, and the personal narratives that shape how we experience ourselves and the world.

Living with disability has also shaped how I understand healing both personally and professionally. It has given me insight into the complex ways physical, psychological, and environmental factors can influence wellbeing, and how easily people can blame themselves for responses that make sense in context. This perspective informs a compassionate, non-pathologizing approach to therapy.
Before beginning graduate training, I worked in several mental health settings supporting individuals with diverse and complex needs. I have completed my Master’s degree in Psychotherapy and Spiritual Care at the University of Toronto and Toronto School of Theology.

Psychiatry Collaboration:
If you’re looking for a diagnosis and/or considering medication in your treatment, Trinity Vitality has partnered with the Psychotherapy Matters Virtual Clinic to provide assessments and medication evaluations through video conference sessions.
We support you throughout the online session, and can get your appointment in weeks instead of the usual waitlist which can be months or even years. We also support with follow-up appointments if necessary.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a doctor’s referral to see you?
No referral is needed to begin psychotherapy with me. You’re welcome to reach out and book directly whenever you feel ready.
If, at any point, you’re interested in psychiatry services, I can support you through that process as well. We’ll work together to connect you to our PMVC portal, where a referral form will be prepared for your doctor to review and sign. My goal is to make this as seamless, supported, and stress-free as possible, so you don’t have to navigate it alone.
What should I expect during my first session?
Your first session is a gentle starting point. It’s a space for you to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.
We’ll explore what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and any questions or concerns you may have about therapy. I’ll also help guide the conversation so you don’t feel like you need to have everything “figured out” beforehand.
Most importantly, the first session is about building a sense of safety and connection so you can begin to feel grounded, understood, and supported.
Are sessions covered by insurance?
Psychotherapy services are often covered by extended health benefits, but coverage can vary depending on your specific insurance provider and plan.
I recommend checking directly with your provider to understand what is included (for example, whether services from a Registered Psychotherapist are eligible and what your reimbursement limits may be).
Please note that I do not offer direct billing. However, you will receive a receipt after each session that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Come exactly as you are.
There’s no expectation around what you wear, comfort is what matters most. Whether that’s cozy clothes at home for a virtual session or something casual in person, you’re welcome just as you are.
This is a space where you don’t need to perform, impress, or prepare in any particular way.
Do you offer a free consultation call?
Yes, I offer a free 15-minute consultation call for new clients.
This is a relaxed, no-pressure space where we can briefly connect, explore what you’re looking for, and see if working together feels like a good fit. You’re welcome to ask any questions you may have about the process, my approach, or what therapy might look like for you.
There’s no expectation to commit, just an opportunity to take a first step in a way that feels comfortable and supported.
Who do you work with?
I currently work with individuals who are 14+.
What services do you currently offer?
At this time, I offer virtual psychotherapy sessions.
Online therapy provides a flexible and accessible way to receive support from the comfort of your own space, while still allowing for meaningful and connected work together.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Not at the moment, but I hope to expand into offering in-person therapy in the near future.
As my practice continues to grow, my intention is to create a space that allows for deeper, more embodied and connected work together.
Are you planning to offer other services in the future?
As this practice evolves, there are hopes to thoughtfully expand the types of services offered over time.
My vision is to continue moving toward a more holistic, whole-person approach to care; one that supports healing and well-being in a way that feels integrated, grounded, and sustainable.
While these offerings are still taking shape, they will always remain aligned with the core intention of supporting mind, body, and overall well-being.
